Mathers is a three-story building built over 140 years ago, making it one of Downtown Orlando’s most prominent historical venues. This is a space for sophisticated winding down, whether drinking for date night with romantic prospects, or deal-making with clients.
When you arrive, you are greeted at the door with an air of sophistication and a dapper allure. You’ll make your way to the second floor via elevator or steps. Once on the second floor, you are surrounded by books and historical trinkets. At first, it appears as if you arrived at the wrong venue, but this is part of the charm. One of these bookshelves has a secret passage. In the middle of the room is the bar, and you just have to gently tug on the shelf to get inside.
Cocktails here are phenomenal. My personal favorite has to be the Bathtub Gin and it comes with a duckie..
If you want to experience Mathers’ good-life vibe with little impact on the wallet, take advantage of its Happy Hour, when a select list of drinks are just $7 and light bites are half off. It runs Wednesday – Saturday from 4-7 p.m.
There is never a dull moment here. Special events are regularly hosted here and one of my personal favorites has to be, salsa dancing. If you are a regular, you’ll enjoy an evening of burlesque.
